It is with a profound sense of loss that we announce the passing of Peter Vissing Nielsen, who left us on July 29, 2024, in Calgary. Born on December 17, 1957, in Nelson, Peter's life was marked by his kindness, intelligence and selfless nature.
Peter graduated as an Electronics Engineer from BCIT. His career began at Canadian Foremost, Seffle Geophysical, Nortel and concluded with DeHavilland Aerospace.
Peter cherished moments spent with his pets, fishing, boating, tinkering, and woodworking. In the company of friends and family, he often found enjoyment a social beer, laughter and stories of his Viking heritage (exhibited with his ferocious full beard and Viking horns).
Peter leaves behind siblings Sven (Kathy), Linda, and Karen (Gord); nephews Jake, Cole and Joshua; nieces Emily and Alyssa; stepchildren and step grandchildren.
