Pauline Verline Bullee

Pauline Bullee passed away on October 22, 2017 in Creston, B.C. after a lengthy illness.

Pauline was born and went to school in a small farming community of Rossburn, Manitoba. There she met her husband Don and they moved to Brandon, Manitoba where they raised their three children. It was there where she received her training in cosmetology and she opened up her own salon.

As life changed Pauline moved on to Coaldale, Alberta, then onto Lethbridge, Alberta. It is there where she married Bill. She opened a new salon called Guys and Gals, where her two daughters and daughter-in-law all worked together for many years.

With her extended family, Pauline and Bill sponsored a softball and broomball team. They always threw a huge BBQ for the players and spouses to celebrate the team's big wins.

In June 1988 Bill and Pauline were thinking about retiring to somewhere a little warmer. They took a trip to B.C. and stopped in Creston, where they really fell in love with a small orchard in Erickson. It had 350 peach trees on it and Pauline spent many summer days nurturing all her peaches and apples that they grew and sold at their fruit stand. They eventually realized that this was not retirement so they sold the orchard and downsized to a smaller place. There she enjoyed many hours tending her huge garden and all her beautiful flowers.

Bill passed away in 2002 and Pauline decided that she had to keep herself busy. She joined the Eagles, Creston Lions Club, Erickson Ladies Auxiliary, Rotacrest and Seniors' Hall as well as working one day a week at Gleaners. She also put on Ukrainian dinner fundraisers where the money raised went towards the Lutheran Church, PAWS, and AA.

It was in her volunteer work with the Eagles where she met Harold, where over time they fell in love spending many Saturdays going to dances.

Pauline loved her crib games- she was especially happy if you got skunked. On your next visit to the house to play crib she would have all her stuffed skunks by the door to remind you of your last visit.

As time went on Pauline became ill, but with the love and good care from Harold and her family she was able to spend her final days in the place she loved the most, her home.

Pauline is predeceased by her parents Joe and Nellie Maydaniuk, her sister Evelyne, her first husband Don Smith, and her second husband Bill Bullee.

She is survived by her fiance Harold Standon; son Calvin Smith; daughters Connie (Curt) Tomlinson, Darlene (Steve) Bullee; grandchildren Chris (Heather), Shawn (Jenn), Tara (Brandon), Dustin, Cody, Tessa, and great-grandchildren Logan, Chase, and Hadley.

Pauline's family would like to send their sincere thanks to Dr. Tara Guthrie and her staff and the ALS center in Calgary for their endless hours of support.

Celebration Of Life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 315 15th Ave N. Creston, B.C. with Harry Haberstock Officiating.
