Orville Alexander McMillan passed away suddenly on January 15, 2010

in Erickson, BC at the age of 80 years.

Orville was born on May 1, 1929 to parents Archie and Edna McMillan in Tantalon, SK. He received his education in Spirit River, Alberta.


Orville married Opal Nelson on June 19, 1953. After working for Alberta Transportation for 20 years, he retired in 1990. Retirement gave Orville more time to focus on carpentry, which he loved. He was also a lifetime member of the Elks of Canada as well as a Legion member in Manning Alberta.


Orville was predeceased by his daughter Shelley on October 27, 1985, granddaughter Savannah on December 12, 1998, parents Archie (Rusty) and Edna in 2000 and sister Anita in 1998.


He will be dearly missed by Opal and their children Allan (Lily) McMillan of Grande Prairie, AB, Linda Lorencz (Clayton Zuchotzki) of Calgary, AB, Brian McMillan (Thelma Smiley) of Grande Prairie and Karen (Rob) Cloutier of Grande Prairie, AB, sisters Betty Ann (Keith) Bowman of Indianapolis, IN, Yvonne (Reg) Kiever of Creston, BC and brothers Carl McMillan of Creston, BC, Archie (Evelyn) McMillan of Chase, BC and Marty McMillan of Creston, BC, eleven grandchildren, two great- grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.


A Funeral Service was held on Friday January 22, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Church Anglican, Creston, BC with Rev. Robin Celiz officiating.

Interment followed the service at the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
