In loving memory ~

Our mother Norma Kay Gialet (nee Tuff), to children Douglas (Trix), James (Sherry), Gordon (Sherry), Brenda (Todd) and Robert (Susan), grandmother and great-grandmother passed away suddenly on January 15, 2024, at the Creston Valley Hospital after suffering a heart attack. Her final moments were spent under the care of the dedicated staff.

Norma was born on December 10, 1935, to parents Dorothy and James Tuff in Vancouver, B.C.

When she found herself as a single parent, Norma quickly created a toolbox of life skills to provide for her family. She had a wide array of careers including the first female grain buyer for the Alberta Wheat Pool, delivering mail for Canada Post, and even building modular homes. She worked hard and enjoyed her play time with family and friends.

Known for her larger-than-life personality and her love of the outdoors and all creatures big and small, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life and not the sadness of her passing.

Norma was predeceased by her father James Lyle Tuff in 2000, mother Dorothy Iona in 2016, brother James Lyle Tuff Jr. in 2000, and son James Paul Williams in 2005.

As per Norma's wishes, a private family celebration will be held at a later date.

Friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Creston Pet Adoption & Welfare Society (PAWS), 2805 Lower Wynndel Road, Creston, B.C., V0B 1G8, BCSPCA, 1245 E 7th Ave., Vancouver, B.C.
