Jul 22, 1945 - Dec 6, 2017
Norm Watson passed away December 6, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.

As a young boy Norm went to live with his foster parents, Doug and Daisy Roszell and his four foster sisters, Dorothy, Colleen, Linda and Evelyn in Salmo, B.C. Norm attended the Nelson Vocational School, where he earned his welding certificate. It was at this time that he met his first wife, Barb Middleton, in 1965.

He went on to work many construction sites in B.C., some of which included the Duncan Dam project, Columbia Hydro Construction, Kootenay Engineering, Kootenay Forest Products, Commonwealth Construction at Line Creek and Ymir Forest Products.

Following these, Norm took a job with Valco Industries that landed him on the construction of a new mill for Wynndel Box & Lumber. After the new mill was complete, he stayed on with them as a welder and millwright for twenty-four years.

His interests in younger years were camping, boating and fishing with his young family, and in later years, darts, bean bag, classic cars and sports.

After settling in Creston, Norm met and married his second wife, Mary, fitting right into a new family dynamic with Mary's adult family, Laurie (Vince) and Mark (Trina).

Norm always enjoyed a good joke and a bit of social time over a glass of Bacardi. Often noted as being gruff, he had a heart of gold.

Along with his wife, Mary, Norm is survived by his mother-in- law, Kathy Banman.

He will be missed by his daughters Lori Watson (David Sicard) and Viki Erickson (Gerry), as well as grandchildren Shayne Watson, Jason Sicard, Kyle Erickson and Rachel Erickson.

As requested by Norm, there will be a family service at a later date.
