Nancy (Lemeshuk) Constable was born on May 27, 1925 in Osereby Poland) Belarus and died on Oct 24, 2017, in Creston, BC.

Nancy immigrated to Canada when she was four years old and grew up in the Crowsnest Pass (Corbin and Michel Natal). She later graduated from the UBC Faculty of Education with a Bachelor's degree.

She began her teaching career in the Elk Valley, then in Natal, then moved to Creston for the remainder of her 36-year career.

Over these years, she enjoyed teaching the various grades but mostly math and English at the Grade 7 level at Creston Elementary, later renamed Adam Robertson Elementary. Throughout these 36 years she taught upwards of 2,500 students and was always most gratified to hear from them how much her efforts were appreciated.

Nan took great interest in broadening her students' experience, whether it was through crafts, social and folk dancing, or community service, and always encouraged pride in being Canadian.

She had many outside personal interests ranging from golf, bridge, fitness and outdoor activity, needlework, artwork, languages and music. There never was enough time to address them all. She belonged to the Anglican Church, Retired Teachers' Association, the Creston Golf Club, and the Royal Canadian Legion.
