It is with Heavy Hearts that the family of N.G. "Gerry" Ostendorf announce her passing on May 5th, 2020
Mom was born at Wood Mountain Saskatchewan on June 11th, 1931 to Alice & Reuben Kanester.
The Family moved to the Creston Valley in 1933 settling in West Creston. Mom accomplished her schooling in West Creston and later in Creston. She Graduated in 1949 with Grade "13"
Mom worked at Creston Electric for Tak Toyota, Sinclairs "Link" Hardware for Wayne & Pat Salmond.
Mom & Dad (Henry Carl Ostendorf) were married June 5th, 1950. Mom worked until 1954 when Darryl arrived, followed by Kevin, Keith and Lorne.
Mom was very involved in our lives. Mom was active with Cubs, Hockey, Curling and was on the Rec Board before RDCK took over.
Mom was an excellent seamstress and made Christmas Stockings for many years for the United Church Circle. She enjoyed reading, poetry, gardening, camping, antiques and especially shopping with her sisters.
Mom was a life member of the C&D Historical Society and Museum.
Mom was predeceased by "Dad" Henry Carl Ostendorf, Parents Alice & Reuben Kanester, Brothers Okie, Frank, Chester, & Clifford, Sisters Lola, Bonnie, Lena and Zoie.
She will be dearly missed by Sons Darryl (Ruth), Kevin (Joanne), Keith (Lisa), Lorne (Stacey) Grandchildren Chad, Shayla, Nicole, Rochelle, Brett, Cammi, Dallas, Dustin, Teandra. Greatgrand Children Tatum, Haylie, Tulilla, Deegan, Kobyn, Emma, Sawyer, Aiden, Carson, Ryla, Liam, Ryder and Jaelyn. Sisters Marjorie and Gail and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
