Miklos (Nickolas) Nemeth
July 25, 1931 ~ July 29, 2015
Miklos “Nickolas” Nemeth of near Wynndel, British Columbia, passed away at Edmonton General Hospital on July 29, 2015 having just turned 84 years old.
Nick was born in Miskolc, Hungary on July 25, 1931 to Margit Tompos and Miklos Nemeth. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 and lived in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he met his loving wife, Giselle Herczeg, also a recent Hungarian immigrant. They married on August 31, 1957 and were blessed with 3 wonderful children. Nick worked at the U of S for 20 years as a groundskeeper and foreman, and finally as a property manager until he retired in 1991. He and his wife relocated to a property close to Wynndel, B.C. where they enjoyed the great outdoors living on the mountainside. He had a true love of nature and enjoyed hiking and exploring in the wilderness.
Nick will be sadly missed by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Giselle; his daughters Lianna Winters (Brent) and Cynthia Disney (Bruce); his grandchildren Michael (Teresa), Joanna, Shirees, Emilia, Ryan and Cody; great-grandchildren Zoe and Tristin and extended family members in Hungary.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his sister Margot Kiss and his son Nicholas Nemeth.
A private family service will be held.
