In Loving Memory ~ The family of Michele (Shelly) announce her passing at Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC. Shelly was born in Drumheller, AB. She completed Secondary at Creston in 1982. Shelly graduated from BCIT in Oil & Gas Technology.
Along with her husband Michel and children, they lived and worked in various locations in BC, Nunavut and Manitoba. They returned to Osoyoos, BC in 2010. Shelly enrolled on-line at Thompson River University. After graduating she worked for Revenue Canada in Penticton, BC.
We remember Shelly bouncing with high energy, smart, funny, cheerful, kind and generous. Even in her last days, she refused to be miserable. She lived her life with gratitude and believed in having principles in all her affairs.
Shelly had a gift for mathematics and mechanics. She was never afraid of a new tool. She tried her hand at everything in the way of home renovations and decorating slipcovers, drapery, painting tiling, plumbing, building and minor electrical projects. She used to say "I've never done it before, but I can read."
Her passion for home didn't end there. Shelly was determined to create a healthy, happy loving space for herself and those around her. She was a loyal and loving mate. She even took courses in parenting skills.
That dedication was repaid a thousand-fold. Shelly was able to stay at home surrounded by the loving care of her husband and children, until a few weeks before her passing.
We are grateful for the home help of the Interior Health Palliative Care team.
Shelly was predeceased by her father Alex and a sister Tracy. She leaves her husband Michel, a son Jake and a daughter Toni. Also her mother Ruby, a brother Troy (Gayle), a sister Laraine (Adam) and a nephew Justin (Twi) and their three girls, and numerous extended relatives.
We cherish her memory deep in the quiet of our hearts. Rest well our Shelly.
Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted a the Interior Health Central Okanagan Hospice House at 2035 Ethel St. Kelowna, BC V1Y 2Z6.
