In Loving Memory ~
Born May 2nd, 1931 in Alresford, England To James Harold Stutter and Beulah Edith Stutter both deceased. Also predeceased by one sister Jean. Dad died on June 8th, 2022 at the age of 91
He is survived by 3 Daughters, Edie Stutter (Mike) Murray, Lois Stutter (Tony) Icke, Avis Phillips (Ross) 6 grandchildren and 4 great grand children. His Cat Toby, his special Friend Rita and many many other friends.
Dad immigrated to Canada from England at the age of 17 on his own, he then spent 9 years in Alberta with an Aunt and Cousin and learned the skills of Trapping, Hunting and Saw Milling timbers for underground mining. He met his first wife Joyce, (who later became mother of his 3 daughters) and together they re located to the Yukon where he worked for the hydro electric plant that supplied power for YCGC. He later became a surveyor for that same company.
His Yukon carrier led him in many directions, He was in the Legislature, he was in Partnership with Benny Warnsby in many pursuits, the Orpheum Theater, the Brainstorm river freighter (Dad and Benny were inducted into the Yukon Transportation Hall of Fame in 2015) and Mi-Ben Mining.
Also where he met his second wife Donna Bainard, they were married for 46 years, Donna predeceased Dad in March of 2019.
Dad and Donna retired to Creston BC in 1991, Where they were both very active in the community. Dad had to keep busy...He was in so many clubs, too many to mention. The Creston Valley Rotary was by far his favorite. He also spent "a lot" of time in CASARA Air Search and Rescue as a spotter he loved to fly. Thank you Michael for his time spent in the "Rocket"
He was instrumental in getting the water system installed at the Creston Valley Golf Course, where he was given a lifetime membership for his time and efforts.
Dad was well traveled and saw much of the world, some of his last words to me were "please don't fret too much about my leaving this world and my many friends, I have had a good life, which has been very kind to me"
This is not the end Dad....Ecclesiastes 9: 5 says "The living are conscious that they will die, but the dead are conscious of nothing at all" and John 5: 28,29 in part says "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs (grave) will hear his voice and come out"
So until we meet again, Sleep well!
