In loving memory ~
Merlin William Thompson was a long time Creston resident and passed away on January 07, 2022 at the age of 87.
He was born in Wimmer, Saskatchewan and moved to Creston as a young boy. He married Laura Darlene Hinch on Sept 25, 1954 in Coeur d' Alene, ID USA. Merlin & Darlene had six beautiful girls.
Merlin farmed and logged in his younger years; which carried him into starting up a sawmill & shake mill in the 70's & 80's. He also help to run a sh farm in Langley, which was his favourite occupation. He loved to ride horses, garden, cook, read, take drives with his wife, watch the Vancouver Canucks on TV, walking, work out at the gym and loved to help people in any way.
Merlin was predeceased by his mother Bertha (Peterman) Thompson & step father Wallace Thompson; his brother Elton Thompson; his grandparents Louis & Margaret Peterman; and granddaughter Christie Clayton.
Merlin was survived by wife Darlene Thompson; daughters Heather Hartland, Debbie Heine, Lorie Clayton, Patricia Walters, Shelly Maddison & Carrie Cameron; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren & sister Retia Wigen.
