May Isabella Tissington

May Isabella Tissington passed away peacefully on August 20, 2014 at the age of 94 years.


May was born to parents Sarah and Frederick Hill on April 30, 1920 in Regina, SK. She was raised and received her education in Regina, SK

She worked at a pastry shop for a little while and then worked twelve years at the Saskatchewan Hotel. May married Wally Tissington in Grande Prairie, AB. They moved to Creston in 1969, where May worked for School District # 8 as a custodian.

May was a member of the Royal Purple and Kiwanis and she volunteered her time at the Pioneer Villa Lodge. Flower gardening was her hobby and in later years she loved gambling. Sadly, she went blind in the last five years of her life but she still enjoyed many things including listening to Blue Jays' baseball games and the Saskatchewan Roughriders' football games.


May was predeceased by her husband, Wally Tissington; grandson Jim Broadhurst and great-great-grandson Lucas.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two brothers Bob and Fred Hill; step-daughter Karon Taylor; daughter Ruth (Gord) Foss; sons Cal Tissington and Mel (Donna) Tissington; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.


A Graveside Service was held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erickson, BC with Guy Roy Celebrant.
