Maxine (Max) Joan Romano (nee Henderson)

October 14, 1938 - December 27, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maxine (Max) Joan Romano (nee Henderson) on December 27, 2019, in Cochrane, AB at the age of 81 years.
Mom was born on October 14, 1938, to parents Eva and William Henderson in Golden, BC, where she spent her childhood. On March 9, 1956, she married the love of her life Russell Romano in Creston, BC and together they raised four children - three sons and a daughter. Mom also worked many years at the Royal Bank of Canada in Creston and spent many winters in Yuma, AZ. She loved to entertain, sometimes cooking for large gatherings. She made the best spaghetti and meatballs! Later in life, mom took up painting.
Mom was predeceased by her parents William and Eva Henderson, brothers Bruce, William (Bill), Jack (Chic), and Harold (Hub) Henderson, and sister Kay Soles.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons Randy Romano and Kimberley, Lane (Colleen) Romano, Todd (Holly) Romano, daughter Rene (Dan) Listhaeghe, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and sister Louise Jackson.
A Celebration of Life Service for Maxine will be held on Saturday July 2, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating. Private family interment to take place at Pioneer Cemetery in Creston, BC.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Alzheimer Society of BC, 300 - 828 W. 8th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 1E2, or to the charity of their choice.
