Mary Elizabeth Hedges (nee O’Neill)
March 22, 1949 ~ July 16, 2015
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Mary Hedges (nee O'Neill), loving and devoted wife of husband George, on Thursday July 16, 2015 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Mary grew up in Aurora, Ontario and had a long career with Bell Canada in Toronto and Thunder Bay. She and George retired to Creston, B.C., finding tranquility among the wildlife and mountains.
Mary is predeceased by her parents, Bill and Joan.
She will be greatly missed by her husband George; siblings Cookie (Wayne), Bill, Jay (Sandy), Luke (Kelly), Mark (Julie), and Germaine (Doug); many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Mary’s sense of humor, generosity and graciousness will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of the oncology unit at Cranbrook Hospital and the doctors and nurses in the palliative care unit at Creston Valley Hospital.
Cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in Creston and Ontario at a later date.
