Mary Ann Pohl (Robinson)


January 19, 1924 ~ April 4, 2012


Mary Ann Pohl (Robinson) passed away with her family by her side on April 4, 2012 at Swan Valley Lodge in Creston, BC at the age of 88 years.

Mary was born to parents Karolina and John Peron on January 19, 1924 in Winnipeg, MB. She received her education in Komarno, MB.

She married Jim Robinson on June 21, 1944 in Creston, BC; sadly Jim passed away in 1961. On May 24, 1980 Mary and Walter Pohl were married in Creston, BC.

Mary was a member of the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church Ladies Group, she was also an honourary lifetime member of the Erickson Golden Agers Association. She enjoyed helping and visiting with seniors, sewing for her children and grandchildren and loved playing in her garden.

She was also a seamstress advisor for Joan’s Sewing Basket.

Mary was predeceased by her first husband James Anthony Robinson; her son Danny Robinson; grandson Chad Hewitt and son-in-law Rod Booth.

She will be dearly missed by her husband Walter Pohl, daughters Linda (Allan) Tompkins of Creston, BC, Brenda Booth of Ladysmith, BC, Kathy (Brian) Bullock of Vancouver, BC, and Janet (Jerry) Robinson of Creston, BC; daughter-in-law Karin Robinson of Cranbrook, BC; brothers Bill (Helen) Peron and Walter Peron; sisters Verna (Dave) Gregarchuk and Olga (Willie) Paulson, all of Manitoba; and eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service was held Tuesday April 10, 2012 at Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church with Tom Greentree officiating.
