Marjorie Lucian Powers

Feb 27, 1921 ~ Aug 17, 2015

Marjorie was born and educated in Mazenod, SK. She married E. Manning Powers in Creston on November 21, 1951 at Trinity United Church.

She was a true homemaker in all senses of the word. A gardener of flowers, vegetables and fruit, she canned and preserved for her family. Marjorie was also a gifted sewer. She would spend many hours searching in abandoned "ghost town" buildings for bottles for her antique bottle collection and loved camping with her husband and children in the summer months. In retirement she enjoyed many trips with her beloved husband.

Marjorie is predeceased by her husband (Edward) Manning Powers in February 2013; brothers Donald Martin (Creston, BC) and Norman Martin (Regina, SK); and sister Gladys Norberg (Mazenod, SK).

She is survived by son Jim Powers of Lister; daughter Judy Kriese (Dave) of Creston; granddaughters Karla Schubert (Jason) of Enderby, BC and Lauren Gadicke (Steve) of Fort St. John, BC; great-granddaughters Madison and Anna; sisters Phyllis Johnston of Burnaby, BC and Sylvia Harder of Maple Ridge, BC.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 10am at G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel.

Memorial contributions in Marjorie's name may be made to Creston Valley Hospital Equipment Fund Bag 3000, Creston, BC, V0B 1G0.
