Marion Victoria Vigne, a resident of Creston, passed away September 30, 2012 at Crest View Village which she called home for almost three years.

Marion was born to parents Mclean and Hilda Cooper, on June 15, 1919 in Penticton, BC. She spent most of her younger years in Grand Forks, BC and moved to West Vancouver when she was 10 years old. She then moved to Creston on her 13th birthday and spent her school years here in Creston.

Marion married Desmond Truscott and moved to Nelson; some time afterwards, they separated and she was forced to support herself and her three children by running a boarding house for eight years. Marion married Godfrey Vigne in 1963 in Kaslo, BC. They spent their married life in Creston, where they both were very active in curling, golf and socializing with their many friends.

She was an active member of The Eastern Star for 42 years. She was Worthy Matron in 1984-1985 and also headed "Ways and Means", which kept her busy sewing and cooking; she had a lot of wonderful memories. She was Princess for Pagentry for the "Daughters of the Nile" in Malac Temple where the ladies arranged routines and the group travelled around peforming in Vancouver, Las Vegas, Toronto, Portland and Kentucky. Marion also belonged to a group of local ladies who aquacised together until the local pool closed and they continued swimming together in Bonners Ferry each week for nine years. They also found time to slip in and gamble before heading home.

Marion also participated in Tai Chi at 90 years with Lin Martin, which she told us "enlightened her spirit." She definitely was an inspiration to us all.

Marion was predeceased by her parents Mclean and Hilda Cooper; husband Godfrey Vigne; grandsons Rod Vigne and most recently Jeff Huscroft; sister Audrey Green; and brother Ron Cooper.

She will be dearly missed by her son Ron Truscott; grandchildren Shelli (Jerry) Diederich, Brenda (Jeff) Plitt; great-grandchildren Dania and Drayson; granddaughter Traci; grandson Jamie Truscott; son Dennis (Deborah) Truscott; grandchildren Jason, Sharla, great-granddaughter Sophia, Elisabeth, Rochelle; daughter Linda (Burt) Huscroft; grandchildren Michelle (Pete) Stark; great-grandchildren Holly, Zach and Mark (Jade) Huscroft; great-grandsons Lane and Reid; son Donald (Vi) Vigne; granddaughter Sherri Vigne; great-grandchildren Danielle, Kimberlee, Zoe; grandson Jim Vigne; great-grandchildren Brandon and Courtenay; son Lewis Vigne; grandchildren Terry, Tammy, Tracey, Tanis, Trudy and their children; brother Ray (Betty) Cooper and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom had a large circle of friends; we are grateful for all their visits and support.
