Marie Maryam Ibbitson
February 13, 1929 ~ January 18, 2010
Marie Maryam Ibbitson passed away January 18, 2010 at Swan Valley Lodge after a lengthy illness, at the age of 80 years.
Marie was born February 13, 1929 in Medicine Hat AB.
She moved to Creston in 1947 where she met and married Lloyd Ibbitson that same year.
Marie was well known for her cooking. Over the years she worked at Gert's Home Inn (which later became the Club Cafe), The Wheel Inn, The Strawberry Inn, Swan Valley Lodge and Pioneer Villa. She was an ardent bowler, and still holds the ladies' record for the highest single game in Creston of 433. She also enjoyed embroidery, gardening and was an avid bridge player.
Marie loved to have her family around her. She had a kind heart and was always there to help when help was needed.
Marie is predeceased by her parents Emil and Dorothy Seitz, and her son-in-law Slim Charman.
She is survived by her husband Lloyd; her three children, Marj Charman, Doug (Lorraine), Don (Jennie); four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lil May and Bernice (Pat) Potter.
