Maria King
July 1, 1925 ~ December 17, 2009.
Maria King went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on December 17, 2009 at the age of 84 years.
Maria was born on July 1, 1925 in Indonesia and lived in the Netherlands during WWII. In 1952 she immigrated to Canada with her husband and two children. They settled in Vancouver, where they had three more children. She spent 20 years in Fort St. John, moving to Creston in 2001. Maria enjoyed working in the garden, reading and many handicrafts. She loved her family, both near and far, her friends and church. She was passionate about God and His Word, wanting everyone to know the joy of eternal security with Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour, just as she did.
Maria was predeceased by her parents, sisters Yoke, Atie, Dieneke and brother Arie. She will be missed by children Ina, Bill (Marion), John (Geraldine), Mike (Joanne), Lisa (Brett), grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Harm (Francis), Henk (Els), Albert (Janny), Jan (Els), brother-in-law Michiel, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She will be remembered for her entertaining stories, always speaking her mind and her love for Jesus.
A Memorial Service will be held on January 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel Ltd with Pastor Jeff Friesen officiating.
