September 15, 2020
Sadly, we mark the passing of Margaret Ann (Peggy) Thornborough, age 77, of Sooke, BC, on September 15th, 2020.
The loving wife, constant companion, and partner-in-crime to her husband John, Peggy is also survived by her son Kenny, her daughter Teresa, and son Michael and wife Kelly. She also leaves behind her brother Robert, his wife Beverly, their daughters Kathy and Dawn, and their families.
It is difficult to describe Peggy's life in a few short words. She raised three rambunctious children, served in the Canadian Armed Forces, followed by a career she enjoyed.
Peggy volunteered with the Northern Alberta Cat Fanciers and The Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion. Much can be said of the contributions she made over her life, with the one constant, that she became the bedrock of those groups.
No one was ever left wanting under her watchful eye, she gave her best to them, and in turn inspired others to do the same.
Peggy's family would like to thank all those offering their sympathies and support. We would especially like to express our sincerest thanks and deepest admiration to Dr. Forsberg, Sasha, and the rest of the Island Health team for their care, compassion, and assistance in Peggy's final months.
It is said that no one truly dies if they live in the memory of others. It is the sincerest wish of her family that we celebrate the good that Peggy brought into the lives she touched, and use the example of her generosity, patience, and dedication to guide us into the future.
