On February 1, 1947 Lucy was married to Erich Sommerfeld on her parent’s farm in Percival Saskatchewan and then the couple moved to their farm in Lister, BC in March. Lucy belonged to the Lister-Huscroft Women’s Institute, the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, gardening and entertaining family and friends. She loved the bright colourful flowers she grew in her many flower beds. In her later years Lucy also enjoyed search-a-word puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.
