Lucy Chard (nee Miller)

Lucy Chard passed away on July 14, 2013 in Creston, BC at the age of 81 years.
Lucy was born to parents Louisa and John Miller on May 8, 1932 in Creston, where she was raised, educated and worked her entire life.
Lucy married Ron Chard on May 19, 1984. Lucy was very involved with her family and she absolutely the outdoors, especially summers at Tye beach on Kootenay Lake.
Lucy was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Mercer Sr.; sisters Norah Dahr and Anna Storm and brother John Miller.
She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Ron; sons Terry (Caroline) Mercer and Jack Mercer; daughters Rhoda (Ron) Hascarl, Betty Anne (Fred) Ahlefeld, Janet (Cliff) Schofer and Carole (Lyn) Dahr; sister-in-law Jan Miller; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Thursday July 18, at 1:00 p.m. at G. F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating.
A private family Interment of Ashes will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
