Lloyd Dale Fox

November 17, 1931 ~ August 8, 2015

It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Fox at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB on August 8, 2015. In the days before he left this world, Lloyd was surrounded by people who loved him dearly.

Lloyd was a very kind and loving man, devoted to his family. He will be greatly missed by Madelyn (Maddie), his wife of 62 years; birth daughters Janet and Margaret and chosen daughter Ann; grandchildren Jeremy, Ryan and Erin; tiny, new great-grandson, Travis; and special friend, son-in-law and fellow Lion Ed. Lloyd will also be missed by his brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; extended family members and many friends.

Lloyd lived a very memorable and active life. He was born in Cluny, AB but spent most of his youth in DeWinton and Calgary. He served in the military for 12 years and travelled to several places in Canada and South America. After leaving the military, Lloyd worked in Shell Canada’s computer centre in Edmonton and then Calgary for 22 years, where he made numerous friends. On retirement, he and Maddie moved to Creston, BC where they spent 18 happy years and created countless happy memories with visiting family and friends.

Lloyd’s grandchildren have many fond memories of the summers they spent with Papa and Nani in Creston. In 2006, Lloyd and Madelyn moved to Claresholm to be near family in Calgary. During their 9 years in Claresholm, Lloyd made lots of new friends and was blessed with great neighbours.

Lloyd was an active member of the Masonic family for more than 55 years as a Mason and also a Shriner. After moving to Claresholm, he became a member of the Claresholm Lion’s Club and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #41 (Claresholm). He was an avid curler for years and also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing bridge with friends.

At Lloyd’s request, there will be no funeral, but a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date.
