August 24, 1935 - December 11, 2018
Leonard Folkman passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018 at the age of 83 years.

Len was born in Didsbury, AB on August 24, 1935 and grew up in Creston, BC, attending Prince Charles High School. He spent a few years in the Air Force before earning his Bachelor's Degree in Commerce at the University of Alberta. Len began work as a Chartered Accountant in Peace River, where he met and married Irene (Bruneau). They started their family in Peace River and Edmonton, then spent some time in Nakusp before settling permanently in Creston in 1972. He practiced accounting in Creston until his retirement in 1999.

During his time in Creston Len was a valuable member of the community; it was important to him that he give back. He was a long-time active member in the Rotary Club and Knights of Columbus. Len spent many hours volunteering with Minor Hockey and Minor Baseball. He was an active member of the Creston Golf Club and the Creston Curling Club. Len also served as Town Councillor for 12 years following his retirement.

Len is predeceased by his mother and father, Grace and Fred Folkman, and his brother Ben Folkman. Len will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Irene; his children Frances Folkman, Roy (Caroline) Folkman, Janice (Dale) Perry, and Suzanne (Travis) Tinning; his grandchildren Isabella, Daniel, Cassidy, Nicole, Owen, Miranda, Drew, and Leo; his brothers and sister Melvyn (Carolyn), Marlene, and Richard (Betty); and his many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral was held at Holy Cross Church on December 18, 2018 in Creston, BC. Please send memorial contributions to Swan Valley Lodge Development Fund.
