Leona Margret Keirn
October 17, 1942 ~ January 12, 2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leona Margret Keirn on January 12, 2017 after a lengthy illness and stroke.
Leona was born in Kimberley, B.C. to Esther and Olaf Karlstrom. Leona was educated in Creston, BC after moving from Kimberley. She was a Library Aid and Teacher's Assistant. Leona married the love of her life, Wayne Keirn, on June 13, 1964. They had three children: Sean, Tara, and Candis.
Leona was a member of the Arts Council, as well as a long-time member of the Covenant Church.
Leona is predeceased by her mother and father, Esther and Olaf Karlstrom. Leona is survived by her son, Sean (Justine) Keirn; daughters Tara Keirn and Candis (Norbert) Brosinski; grandchildren Matthew, Madeline, Lachlan, Peyton, Anika, and sister Gloria Karlstrom.
A service was held Tuesday January 17, 2017 at 2:30pm at Evangelical Covenant Church, officiated by Pastor Tom Greentree. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the Parkinson Society of British Columbia, 890 W Pender St #600, Vancouver, BC V6C 1J9.
