Larry Ray Brost

April 16, 1950 ~ January 21, 2015

We regret to announce the passing of Larry Ray Brost.

Born in Kamloops (1950) Larry grew up in Rossland and later went to University in Victoria where he became a property appraiser with the BC Assessment Authority. His 37 year career took him to Prince George and finally brought him to Vernon in 1977.

When Larry wasn’t raising people’s taxes, you could find him on the softball field on the pitcher's mound, on the golf course (grabbing a hole-in-one, 2005 Arrowsmith G&CC) and fishing for trout at Pinaus Lake or salmon at Deep Bay. Larry was also a talented musician and loved to strum his guitar making up his own words as he went along. He was a celebrated hobby carpenter/woodworker. His finishing skills and attention to detail were noticed on numerous occasions where he took home the blue ribbon and people’s choice awards through the Winter Carnival Fair.

Larry was predeceased by his dad Ray Brost.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol; daughter Anita (Mike); son Colin (Michelle); grandchildren Mordachai, Haley and Riley; mother Helen; sisters Lori (Bill) and Su (Lyn); and brother Clayton (Leanne).

The Funeral Service was held at Bethel Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
