Kip Routley

April 30, 1921 ~ May 21, 2010

Kip Routley passed away at his residence Swan Valley Lodge on May 21, 2010 at the age 89 years.

Kip was born in Port Coquitlam on April 30, 1921 to parents Anita & Wesley Routley. He served in the army during WWII, therefore was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Kip was active in sports, he played lacrosse for Westminster Salmonbellies, baseball and soccer. He was a Montreal Canadien fan, collected hockey cards and enjoyed rug hooking. Kip was a member of the IBEW Union Local 258 while employed with BC Hydro.


Kip was predeceased by his parents Anita & Wesley Routley, brothers Bud and Pete Routley, and sisters Gloria Yasinski and Ruth Copeland. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Hilary, sons Ken and Tony Routley, daughters Gloria Sundbo and Tina Warkentin, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and brother Ken of Port Coquitlam, BC.


A Memorial Service was held on Friday May 28, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Br #29 with Padre Randy Wood officiating.

A Private Family Entombment of Ashes took place following the service, in the Bella Columbarium, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
