Kenneth Gordon Moore

June 30, 1931 ~ January 30, 2013

Kenneth Gordon Moore passed away suddenly at his home in Creston, BC on January 30, 2013 at the age of 81.

Kenneth Gordon Moore was born in Grande Prairie, AB on June 30, 1931, the first child of Helen and Gordon Moore.

Kenny attended elementary school in the North Peace area of BC and later at a school in Vancouver.

As a young man, Kenny began his career driving lumber trucks for his dad, hauling on the Alaska Highway and areas closer to home. Later he operated his own logging company in Chetwynd. In 1966 he bought a farm in Taylor, BC from his dad and realized he found his true calling in life and enjoyed being a farmer and livestock owner. He farmed until 1981 when he semi-retired to Creston where he bought a small farm on the Creston flats and continued farming for several more years.

In 1959, Kenny married his wife and soul-mate Aloria (Lori) Winje and they were blessed with four sons: Blaine (Liz), Shaun, Sheldon and Jason ( Laurie) and with the birth of two grandsons; Dawson and Connor, his life was full and complete.

Kenny's sense of humor and likable nature endeared him to many during his lifetime.

From a very young boy he was gifted with an exceptional memory; for events, happenings, people and places and rarely forgot a face, maybe a name or two but never a face. There were no strangers in Kenny's life; he could strike up a chat with almost anyone and have something in common to talk about. His hobby and favorite things to do in later years were chatting with friends and neighbors, doing little jobs and projects with his collection of old John Deere tractors or his Bobcat, and lending a hand to help his sons whenever he was needed.

Kenny was predeceased by his parents and two nephews.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, four sons, daughters-in-law, two grandsons, two sisters; Bev (Norman), Margie (Ozzie) and two brothers; Gary (Kathy) and Denny (Maryanne), as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many cousins and nieces and nephews.
