It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Karen Liana Smith (nee Lodermeier) on October 25, 2021, at Creston, BC at the age of 70 years.
Karen was born on October 11, 1951, in Lethbridge, AB to Romie and Irene Lodermeier. She lived in Milk River with her family until 1966, when they moved to Creston, BC. After graduation, Karen went to college in Castlegar and eventually moved back to Creston where she worked in several business owned by her parents as well as the Creston & District Credit Union for many years. Karen loved farming life and together her and Mike enjoyed many years of raising chickens, cattle, and horses. She also loved animals of all sorts; her menagerie of dogs, cats, birds, horses, and even cows kept her busy.
Karen was predeceased by her parents Romie and Irene Lodermeier and niece Melissa Day (nee Rabbitt).
Karen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 26 years, Mike, two much-loved stepdaughters Shannon Smith and Debbie Daybell, five grandchildren Amanda, Danny, Lane, Logan, and Jordan, six great grandchildren, sisters Annette Rabbitt and Laurie Gray, brothers-in-law Bernie Rabbitt and Brad Brownsey, nieces Kristin (Matt) Erhart and Scarlett, and nephews Jack, Joel, and Benjamin.

Though your smile is gone forever,
and your hand we cannot touch.
Still, we have so many memories,
of the one we loved so much.
Your memory is our keepsake,
with which we'll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
