In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Justin Andrew Turner on January 9th, 2024, at the young age of 33. Justin was born on July 5th, 1990.

The day he was born he became his mother Corrie Lowe's world. He was the first-born grandson to Norman and Elsje Lowe. He was upgraded to Big brother status April 12th, 1995, when his little sister, Alycia Turner, was born. He took his big brother duties seriously by picking on her every other day, then scaring the monsters away at night and making beds on her floor to sleep. His favourite promotion was becoming Uncle Justin; his niece and nephew meant the world to him.

Our family bonded over a love for Cribbage and Justin was always willing to step up to beat anyone but Papa, the unbeatable of course. He also bonded with his cousins and friends playing Magic.

Justin's love for anything film related was widely known by anyone close to him. Whether he was telling you about the newest extended addition of Lord of the Rings, or the latest episode of Game of Thrones that he had watched for the 50th time. He was also an avid collector of all things fantasy related, but his fondest interest were comics. He amassed a large collection of comics, but his greatest collection was the artwork he collected from his dear friend Chris Lee.

Justin's kind, caring and generous personality was widely known by his loved ones, and the locals that were in his presence during his time working at Save-On-Foods and Pealows. Justin was always ready with a "Hi Darling" whenever an elderly woman came into the store and a steady arm to walk them out to their cars when they were finished.

One of his proudest accomplishments was receiving his 60-day chip on his personal journey to sobriety. To be close to Justin was to feel loved and cared for as Justin always wore his heart on his sleeve for everyone to see and was never ashamed to show it.

Justin has left behind his mother Corrie Lowe, (Divorced) Stepfather Richard Turner, Sister Alycia Turner, Brother-in-law Tyler Tomalty, Niece Toby Tomalty, Nephew Dawson Tomalty. His dear grandmother Elsje Lowe, his Aunty Cindy Golbeck, his Uncle Brad Golbeck, his great uncle Terry Leal, his great aunty Marianna MacLeod, cousins Renee and Larry Feagan and family, cousins Sean Golbeck, Kyle Golbeck, and Aira Araneta and extended family, Kelly and Ayla Mair.

Justin has also left behind his Alberta Brothers from other mothers; Jessie Miller, Daylen Alison and Ted Knight. As well as his B.C. Brothers; Chris Scott, Chris Lee, Patrick Keber, Adrian Koring and Jaymond Dortman.

Justin is predeceased by his Papa Norman Lowe, Great Grandmother Hazel Lowe, Great Nanny Ria MacLeod and Great Aunty Barb Leal. He was also predeceased by his forever best friend Christopher McVeety.

A private family service will take place in August in Kimberley where he will be interred with his Forever crib partner and dearest friend his Papa Norman Lowe.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude towards everyone that has taken the time to send a text, call, warm meal, or a comforting embrace during this difficult time.

A private non-profit foundation will be established in Justin's honour to raise funds for a yearly Kootenay River High School Graduation Bursary. As well, the foundation will support presentations to policy makers to not only increase awareness of the unliveable wait times in the BC health care system for bed-based addictions and mental health treatment and recovery but to highlight the critical immediacy of that bed at the time the person requests it.

Closing this gap will increase hope and decrease risk for others needing this service.

If you are interested in knowing more about Justin's foundation or would like to donate funds, please email: JustinsHope2024@gmail.com.
