Joseph Robert (Bob) Jones passed away peacefully at the Creston Hospital surrounded by family on January 30, 2024.
Bob was born on September 13, 1943, to Stan and Edna Jones. He and his three siblings Roger (Irene) Pat (Howard) and Chris (Brenda), were raised on a farm along Plummers Rd west of Calgary in the community of Priddis.
Bob went on to become a very skilled tradesman, eventually meeting the love of his life Christine and having two children Barry (Rachelle) and Jason (Megan).
Bob started a business called Chinook Stainless Installations and enjoyed many years of success. Bob and Christine retired early to Penticton B.C. where they built their dream home spending many years travelling across Canada and the US in their motorhome.
Christine passed in 2010 prompting Bob to sell their retirement home in Penticton and purchase a cabin on the shores of Kooteney Lake near Creston B.C.
Bob had many interests including, curling, motorcycles, geology, Canadian history, fishing, building and renovating. He was a wonderful man, a loyal husband, supportive father, and was a proud grandfather to his two grandchildren Gabriel and Jasmine.
Bob was well known in his community as an active back country adventurer. Fearless, honest, witty and kind, he will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
