Joe Snopek passed away suddenly on September 22, 2016 in Kelowna, BC.


Joe was born June 18, 1941 in Ironsprings, Alberta

He served eight years as Mayor of Creston, was currently a councillor on Creston Town Council and was involved in many societies and organizations.

Joe was well known as an auctioneer and was the owner of Snopek Auction.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved carving his many farm and western sculptures, gardening, cooking and his trusty companion “Muffy”. He will be missed by many and cherished by all.

Joe was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Karen Louise Snopek in January 2015, his parents Joe and Olga Snopek, brother Rudy, nephew Ryan, brothers-in-law Lloyd and Frank, and sister-in-law Anne.

Left to mourn his passing are his children, Wesley (Anna) Snopek, Sandra (Kevin) Helfrich, and Debbie Kemle; grandchildren Kory (Marin) Helfrich, Breanne (Tyler) Willmek, Bailey (Justin) Goss, Steven Kemle, Paige (Mark) Dyke and Alyssa Kemle; and great-grandchildren Claire and Lincoln Goss.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11am at Creston and District Community Complex.
