Jim McSeveney

September 25, 1933 ~ January 14, 2017


Jim McSeveney of Canyon, B.C. passed away on January 14, 2017 at Creston Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Jim was born in Twechar, Scotland on September 25, 1933.

Jim moved to Canada with his wife in July of 1966 to go into business with his brother and start a life in Canada as a barber.

Jim was a member of the Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and the Legion. He had a great love of fishing, building planes, playing poker, and he enjoyed the company of his good friends.


Jim is predeceased by his sister Mary in 2005.

Jim is survived by his wife Elspeth, brothers Bill (Lil) of Campbell River, B.C., Tom of Australia, his sister Nan (John) McGinnes of Scotland and numerous nephews and nieces.

There will be no service by request. In lieu of flowers friends and family wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation 200-1212 West Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6H 3V2 or to a charity of your choice.


We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Creston Valley Hospital, and the emergency response team for their help, care, and support. Also thanks to our friends for the phone calls, food, cards, and help in this difficult time. You are all truly wonderful people.
