January 5, 1943 - April 7, 2025
In Loving Memory ~
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jerry (Papa) Green on April 7, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
Jerry was born in Vancouver, BC, on January 5, 1943, to Reg and Nellie Green, living in many communities in Canada and the United States. In 1972, he was married in Kelowna, BC, then finally settled with his family in Creston, BC in 1992, on their dream acreage in Lister, BC.
Jerry was a glazier for most of his life, specializing in both residential and commercial applications. He also had a mirror re-silvering business, a profession that was not very common, using a technique that was passed down to him by his father. It was a profession that was sought after, especially by antiquers, and he created connections throughout the US and Canada.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife Helena Green, children Shelley, Wendy, Brian, and their families, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren also mourn his loss.
He will be fondly remembered driving his "LUV" truck with his beloved dogs Duke or Willy riding shotgun.
With respect to Jerry's wishes, there will be no funeral services. As he often said, "If you spend too much on my death, I'll come back to haunt you!"
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to make a memorial contribution may do so to Creston Pet Adoption & Welfare Society (PAWS), 2805 Lower Wynndel Road, Creston, BC V0B 1G8, or to The War Amps, 1 Maybrook Drive, Scarborough, ON, M1V 5K9, two causes that were dear to his heart.
The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Creston Valley Hospital that took great care of him.
Condolences for the family may be offered at www.crestonvalleyfuneralservices.ca
