James Hugh (Jim) McDonald


September 20, 1944 ~ November 9, 2011


James Hugh (Jim) McDonald, a resident of Wynndel, BC passed unexpectedly in the Cranbrook Hospital on November 9, 2011 at the age of 67 years.

Jim was born to Oline and Bill McDonald on September 20, 1944 in Creston, where Jim received his formal education. He continued his education at trades schools in Kelowna and Vancouver, gaining his papers as a journeyman carpenter. Jim married Vicki Johnson in Reno, Nevada on October 10, 1971 and the couple made Wynndel their home, where they celebrated their 40th anniversary. Jim changed his skills as a carpenter to truck driving, first owning a logging truck until buying a local lowbed trucking business, which he operated from 1976 until his retirement in September 2009.

Jim was an active member of Creston P.a.w.s. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, attending car shows, boating and water skiing, snowmobiling and atv riding. Jim loved the valley and especially Kootenay Lake and the surrounding mountains.

He was predeceased by his parents Oline (Uri) and Bill McDonald of Wynndel, BC.

Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife Vicki; daughter Robbi McDonald (Scott Langevin); son Jamie McDonald; sisters Crystal of Penticton, Ronelle of Penticton and Norma of Nuevo, CA and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Private Family Memorial Service to be held in the spring.

Cremation has taken place.
