In Loving Memory ~
Jacob "Jake" Senft, passed away into the Arms of his Saviour and Lord, on Monday, September 25, 2023, at the age of 91.
He was born to William and Ida Senft on a large farm in Lemberg, Saskatchewan, the 2nd child of 15 children, with 27 in total. Jacob died at the age of 91 years, while living in Crestview Assisted Living, with his Partner of nearly 63 years residing with him, Della Senft.
Father passed away in the night, and went to be with His Saviour in Heaven, where he longed to be. Jacob told his Family weeks before that he was Ready to meet the Lord and his dear Mother. His family Prayed for him to go and very soon he went Home.
Della was his best friend and partner of nearly 63 years, and was by his side daily. They both enjoyed many recreational activities and especially the Church services and singing there. They watched out for each other and were best friends, enjoying the many Visits with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren... Five Generations this year!
Jake was a Man of Integrity, always Teaching his children about Volunteering, Justice and Laws to abide by, and was always an Example of that. Life was not easy for him but he persevered through health issues, and always helped towards keeping his family's needs above his own. He Loved the Church of God (Anderson) and helped build different ones over the years, in different towns they moved to.
His Many Charities were appreciated by different organizations and he lived very simply in his retirement to give more. He took his family to many Church camp meetings through the summer, and with his wife volunteered there.
His favorite community of Kitchener is where he helped much towards keeping the water going to many homes and where he lived for over 30 years. He Loved Kitchener Mountain and taught his children how to find berries, chop wood, fishing, hunting, skating, swimming, and adventure, even picking out christmas trees every year.
In retirement he Enjoyed T.A.P.S. for seniors, taking a bus touring, gardening especially and had the most Abundant healthy garden in the neighbourhood, each year.
As a Child, father worked hard milking cows before and after school, working in the fields to bring in harvest off hundreds of acres, helped in the home with the New babies coming and he was a huge help to his mother to feed, sooth and teach them their ABC's and more.
He sacrificed himself and stayed home longer, after his Mom asked in earnest, to help his Parents on the farm. Then he moved to Chilliwack B.C. and met Della at the Church they both went to and it wasn't long, they were married. Along came 5 Children, after moving to different areas and they eventually settled in Kitchener.
Jake and Della married in 1960 and by the time they moved to the Kootenays, he worked to help Seniors for years after taking a Home support training, did flagging and maintenance jobs, sawmill work, bridge construction and volunteering much in between. He taught his children much about having a hands-on approach to things, and how to work hard and his boys remember working on vehicles, and girls remember him enjoying the grandchildren and showing the sweet gentle side with their children.
Ever since giving his life to His Saviour at 18 years old, he road a Journey of Faith and Healing. He had an amazing Peace and wholeness in the last years of life, smiling and hugging and showing his children he truly loved them.
