Jack was born in Creston and graduated from Prince Charles Secondary School, after graduation he went to work at Macleods.
In 1981 Jack moved to Ottawa where he worked and later managed Classy Formal Wear. In 2000 he moved back to Creston to help take care of his mother and step-father. Jack went to work at Bahamas General Store.
In 2014 he joined the staff of Creston card and Stationary, where he worked happily until retirement was forced upon him.
Jack's greatest love was traveling. He made many trips to Mexico and the Caribbean, usually with many family members and friends. He made friends everywhere he went. He also went to Italy and lastly to Africa, Jack often said if he could live his life again he would go back to Africa.
Jack was predeceased by his father, mother and step-father Ron Chard.
He is survived by his brother Terry (Caroline) Mercer, sisters Rhoda (Rom) Hascarl, Betty (Fred) Ahlefeld, Janet (Cilfe) Schofer, Aunt Janet Miller and many nieces, nephews, and cousins as well as many amazing friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
