Isabelle Lastucka
December 12, 1918 ~ March 21, 2015
It is with deepest regret the family of Isabelle Lastucka announce her peaceful passing at her home in Swan Valley Lodge on March 21, 2015.
Isabelle was born in Romania, on December 12, 1918 to Stefan and Sophia Semeniuk.
She immigrated to Canada at age 5 with mother Sophia and older brother Steven where they met up with father Stefan in Neville, Saskatchewan.
The family moved to Canyon, BC where Isabelle and Steven finished schooling. Isabelle married William Lastucka on July 8, 1938 at Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Isabelle secured seasonal employment at the Pea Shed and Creston Valley Fruit Growers Packing Shed until retirement.
Some of the hobbies Isabelle enjoyed included gardening and looking after the various fruit and vegetables grown on the family farm. Weeds and dandelions were her pet peeve. She also took pleasure in raising a variety of flowers in the garden. Knitting, crocheting and puzzle books became more enjoyable in her later years.
Isabelle was predeceased by her husband William Lastucka on May 05, 1993.
Left to mourn her passing are sons Gordon Gary (Aleyamma) of Saint Albert, AB and Kenneth Wayne of Calgary, AB; grandchildren David Gordon of Chilliwack, BC and Michael William of Saint Albert, AB; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Avery of Chilliwack, BC.
A Funeral Service was held at G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015 with Father Tom Kakkaniyil officiating. Interment took place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
