August 11, 1930 - August 23, 2021
Irene Pauline Lodermeier (nee Stickel) was born on August 11, 1930, in Seven Persons, Alberta to Lydia and Fred Stickel, passing at 12:05 am on August 23, 2021, at the age of 91 years in Creston, BC.
She spent her teenage years working as a waitress in Robert's Café owned and operated by her parents. There she met Romie Lodermeier, a handsome young farmer who had recently returned from the war. He was to become the love of her life and they were married 54 years upon his passing.
On a trip to visit her youngest sister they passed through Creston and fell in love with the valley immediately. They purchased a campground/ trailer court and did extensive renovations and improvements before selling and venturing into other interests like buying and selling houses, owning, and operating a clothing store and deli among other pursuits. Mom being the business brain and dad the talented carpenter it seemed no project was insurmountable.
Irene is predeceased by her husband Romie in 2002, brothers Bill, Wilber, Cliff, Clarence, sisters Lorene and Viona and granddaughter Melissa Rabbitt Day.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by daughters Annette Rabbitt, Karen Smith and Laurie Gray, grandchildren Joel and Kristin, great grandchildren Jack, Scarlett and Ben,sisterVioletKing,son-in-laws Bernie, Mike, and Brad as well as her loving companion of 17 years Bill Jackman.
Her family was everything to her and she was always there to help when she could.
She leaves a large hole in our hearts and will be missed so much.

Thinking of her as resting
From the sorrow and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days or years
Think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
As she was loved so much
