Hester Meyers

Feb. 11, 1941 - Oct. 8, 2011

The family of Hester Meyers would like to announce her passing after a short fight with cancer.

Hester met Erik at the age of 14, in Holland. Eventually they married and emigrated to Canada in 1963 and had three children. In 1966 the couple bought a dairy farm in Chilliwack and farmed there until they retired in 1993. The couple travelled for a few years until they came across a piece of property to build on in Creston, B.C. The next 14 years were the happiest for the couple, while building their Little Piece Of Heaven.

Hester and Erik enjoyed rock hounding, and gold panning. Hester spent many hours sewing and working in her garden, and cooking Indonesian rijsttafe.

Hester is survived by her mother Pauline Frings of Holland, sisters: Nel (Karlheinz) Bremann of Germany, Anna-Marie (Frans) Guertsen of Holland, Rose Van Leeuween of Holland; brothers: Nico (Ada) of B.C.; Simmon (Maria) Van Leeuween of Germany; children: Yvonne (Claude) Fontaine, Paula-Ann (Ceel) Roseboom, Ron (Lisa) Meyers; grandchildren: Crystal (Scott) Dickey, Mark Roseboom and Kerri Nelson, Brian Roseboom and Ashley Ashazawa, Jean Luc, Marcel, Sammy Fontaine, Erik, and Cassie Meyers, Alyssa and Katrina Lawley; and great-grandchild Grayson Dickey.

Hester is pre-deceased by her husband, Erik Meyers; her father, Nicolass van Leeuween; and her sister Pauline van Leeuween.
