Helen Isabella Brost

December 28, 1931 ~ August 29, 2016

We regret to announce the passing of Helen Isabella Brost, who was granted her wings on August 29, 2016 in Creston, B.C.

Helen was an independent, courageous woman - even decades ago when women had fewer opportunities. She was devoted to being a great wife and mother, but somehow she still found ways to broaden her horizons, learn new skills and grow as a person. By doing so, she not only empowered herself, but also taught her children and grandchildren to empower themselves as well. What an incredible role model - leaving behind a legacy of strong people who will continue to follow the example she set. She enjoyed travel, big city lights, and creating a warm, welcoming home. She delighted in getting hold of the latest technology and gadgets, and figuring out how they worked as well as the passion and love she had of many years of beautiful card making. She found joy in so many aspects of life - but above all of that, she loved being with her family.

She now watches over us fondly, reunited with the one and only love of her life - Ray Brost, and their little dog, Tia. She is also embraced by her son Larry, who predeceased her, and all the other family and friends who passed before her.

Helen is survived by her loving children, Su (Lyn), Lori (Bill), Clayton (Leanne), and Larry's wife, Carol; her grandchildren, Anita (Mike), Colin (Michelle) and Danielle (Ava); and her great-grandchildren, Mordechai, Haley and Riley.

A private family service was held.
