Helen Holics

It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of Helen (Toth) Holics , wife of the late Joe Holics, on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at the age of 76 years.
Helen is survived by her loving daughter Helen (Rob) Rothe and her three loving grandchildren, Derek, Kayla and Chance. She is survived by her two brothers, Joe (Verna) Toth of Lethbridge and John (Zellah) Toth of Cardston and many nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband Joe; brothers Mike and Steve; sisters Mary, Kay and infant sister Anna.
Born in Humbolt, Saskatchewan on September 3, 1935, she relocated with her family to Lethbridge Alberta. She married Joe Holics in Lethbridge at the United Church downtown after a two week courtship.
Working very hard in her lifetime right beside her husband, whether it was hoeing sugar beets, logging, haying or farming. She was a trooper and lived there for 44 years before the passing of Joe in 1995. Helen moved to Claresholm in 1999 with her daughter and family.
In the 11½ years at Claresholm she has built friendships that were truly genuine to her, friendships that she spoke highly of. Her stomping grounds were Roy’s Place and Douros; those were the places she established the true and genuine friendships that she cherished. If relatives needed to find her they would say, ‘just stop at Roy’s, I am sure Aunty Helen is there’. She will be missed. A special thanks to all the staff at Roy’s Place and Douros.
A special thank you to the ambulance service, Dr. Gish and Dr. Jones, nurses and staff for the tender compassion and care shown to our mom/grandma at The Claresholm Hospital. Thank you to Home Care for the weekly care given to Mom over the many years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Leyden’s Funeral Home, 4079 - 1 Street West Claresholm, Alberta on Saturday May 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
