It is with sadness we announce the passing of Gordie Baulkham of Creston BC, on October 23, 2019 at the age of 79 years.
Gord was born to Ernest and Phyllis Baulkham on February 1, 1940 in Penticton BC. He grew up in Kelowna and the highlight of his school years was being part of the Kelowna Secondary School Band as their drummer.
His talent for drumming became a life-long passion and he played in many bands and groups through the years.
Upon finishing school Gord went on to be an independent businessman best remembered for running Gem Cleaners in Castlegar, and later as an Esso agent both in Creston and Lumby.
It was while Gord lived in Castlegar that he met the love of his life, Glenna.
They were married in 1971 and together they raised their three sons, Brent, Tim and Garth.
Gord enjoyed hockey and golf.....and french fries! He shared his passion for hockey through many years of coaching in Castlegar, Creston and Vernon. He had great memories of times spent with friends on the Creston Golf Course.
Above all Gord loved his beautiful family and thanked God for them all.
He cherished his many friendships through the years and by his family Gord will be best remembered for his infectious smile and endearing love and support.
Gord was predeceased by his parents and his beloved sister Elinor.
Gord is survived by his wife Glenna, his son Brent and wife Jodie, son Tim and wife Lesa, son Garth, as well as grandchildren: Dustyn, Tyson (Kim), Keegan (Jessica), Jordan (McKenzie) Alexis and great grandson Bowen.
Also survived by niece Heather (Brad,Tejanna and Jaida) Bobbi-Jean and nephews Jamie and Rob (Karen)and Rory as well as cousins, aunts and an uncle.
A celebration of Gords life will be held in the spring of 2020.
