Frieda Lind-Blad

Frieda Lind-Blad passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the age of 81 of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
Alice Elizabeth Frieda Eisenhut was born on the farm near Cavell, SK on April 21, 1929. She married Jack Lind-Blad in North Battleford, SK on August 29, 1949. They raised their three children in Edmonton, AB and Sidney, BC. Frieda and Jack moved to Creston in 1991. One year ago, she was diagnosed with ALS.
Frieda is survived by Jack; her children: Karen (Stephen) Kaczkowski, Ric Collins, Blair Lindblad, and Faine (Ted) Stenhouse; as well as four grandchildren: Candice Collins, Jay (Katt) Collins, Josie Lindblad and Teya Stenhouse, and one great grandson, Kelton Fraser. She is also survived by her siblings; Grace Kimberley (of Tottenham, ON), Con (Dot) Eisenhut (of Creston) and Martha Paterson (of Edmonton).
A time of Fellowship and Remembrance will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2010 from 2 - 4 PM in the Village Square function room at Crest View Village, 800 Cavell Street.
In honor of Frieda's memory, she requested that those wishing to give her a gift, "send money to people who are hungry".
Her children would like to thank the many people who helped in Frieda's care, including her brother Con, Keith Forseth, Mark Johner, Dr. Daile Hoffman, and Ina from Home Care Nursing.
