May 31, 1930 - November 17, 2018
Francis was born Francis Lloyd Edey on May 31, 1930 in Spirit River, Alberta to Alexander Moses Edey and Frances (Fanny) Edey. He was the seventh of eight children.

Francis grew up on a homestead in Bridgeview, Alberta and went to school there until grade twelve. He attended Peace River Bible School before going to Liberia, West Africa as a Missionary in 1955. There he met Emma Weme, who would later become his wife. They got married on April 24, 1958 at Emma's folks place in Erickson, and started their lives together in Millet, Alberta where they lived for just over two years. Afterwards they moved to Trochu, Alberta where Francis worked on a grain farm.

In 1962, they moved to Creston where Francis first worked for Crestbook Forest Industries at the mill in downtown Creston. Then in 1965 he started work for J.H. Huscroft mill in Erickson where he worked for twenty-five years, retiring in 1990. He was a lumber grader, as well as teaching grading classes for many years during the fall and winter months.

Besides work and family, Francis' life centered around his church community at the Erickson Evangelical Covenant Church. Francis was always kind and generous to everyone he met and especially had a heart for the youth in the church. He was well loved by all his nieces and nephews and made a point to go to as many graduations, weddings and special occasions that came up.

In 2007, Francis and Emma moved to Crest View Village where they have resided ever since. His life reflected the life of Jesus his Saviour, as he was an example of unconditional love to many who had the privilege of knowing him. Now Francis rests in the arms of his Saviour and is once again reunited with Aunt Emma and all his loved ones who have gone before him.

Francis leaves to mourn his younger brother Roy Edey in Grande Prairie, Alberta and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews who will miss him dearly.

A Service was held on Monday November 26, 2018 at Erickson Covenant Church.
