In loving memory ~
The family of Eunice Brazdil is saddened to announce her peaceful passing, after a lengthy battle with COPD, at the age of 76 on Feb. 9, 2023, at Creston Valley Hospital.
Born Eunice Arlene Currie, on February 21, 1946, Eunice spent her youth on the farm near Arelee, SK., and after her father Vernon's passing moved with her mother Helen, and sister, Carolyn, to the village of Springwater. There she met and married Victor Brazdil from Ruthilda. They had two children, Vernon and Dawn. They farmed in the Ruthilda area until making a move to Whitehorse, YT in 1976. The Yukon held a very special place in Eunice's heart that remained with her for the rest of her life.
Eunice and Victor moved to Lloydminster, AB in 1985 and started Vic's Trucking. Eunice was an accomplished truck driver, and together they built the business, doing snow removal for the city, working on the upgrader, and many trucking jobs for the oil industry. Free time would find them antiquing, collecting, and attending trade shows. Relaxing at the lake and caring for their pets filled many hours. With Victor's untimely passing, Eunice sold the business and after spending a couple more years in Lloydminster, made the move to Tofield, AB.
She volunteered at the food bank and the United Church and was always ready to lend a hand to her neighbours. Many memories were made attending Briers and World Curling events. In 2011, tired of Alberta winters she moved to Creston, BC. Eunice renewed her passion for sewing and enjoyed selling items at the farmer's market. Her whole family benefited from her talent, receiving many homemade gifts and jars of fruit and jam she canned. Some of the highlights of Eunice's final years were travelling to warm beaches and spending time with her grandchildren and great niece and nephews.
Eunice will be lovingly missed by son Vernon Brazdil, and daughter Dawn (Bob) Lust. Grandchildren Gillian, Marquis, and Kelly (Kornelija). Sister Carolyn (Roger) Malchow, niece Sarah (Blaine) and nephew Adam (Christine). Niece Karen (Derek) Chopowick, and family by choice Pam (Randy) Monkman. Numerous cousins, and many friends new and old.
The family plans for a memorial service to be held in the warmer months.
Memorial donations can be made to the Creston Valley Hospital Tuck Shop, 3885 Lakeview Arrowcreek Rd., Creston , BC. V0B 1G8.
