It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ethel Anetta Alton, a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, on December 7, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Mom, you will be deeply missed.
Ethel was born on October 26, 1940, in Fort St John, BC, where she was also raised, and moved to Creston, BC with her family in 1970.
She was a homemaker, mother, and wife and took great pride in her baking, canning, sewing, and gardening.
In the mid 1970's, Ethel started her ventures of self-employment, restaurants over the years which included The Pizza Oven, Daily Diner, and Green Jeans, as well as many side jobs along the way, learning many different skills. She was not afraid to take on new tasks and worked very hard when she did.
Her last years were spent in Swan Valley Lodge, where she peacefully passed away.
Ethel will be lovingly remembered by her sister Evelyn, sisters-in-law Alice and Bev, children Ray (Lori), Kathy (Bill), Bernice, Andy (Yukiko), Teresa (Peter), and Michele, grandchildren Szilvia (Kirk), Kristie (Brad), Shawn (Cassandra), Tegan (Blair), Tyler, Kevin (Rhonda), Kara (Sean), Britney (Dennis), Andrew (Akaylia), Dawn, Nathan (Maddie), Aurelia, Kei, Ashley (Justin), Jessica, Samantha, Sydnie, and John, as well as 26 great grandchildren.
Ethel was predeceased by her father and mother John and Verna, stepmother Hertha, brothers, Dale, Vernon, and Donald, daughter-in-law Maxine, grandchildren Kael and Sandra, and great-granddaughter Lily.
