Betty was educated in a one room school house in Queen’s Bay.
High school and Business College were completed in Nelson, BC. She obtained employment with the East Kootenay Power Company in Fernie, BC where she met and married John Colgur on November 24, 1943. The couple moved to Creston in 1959 with Columbia Brewery. Betty worked at various jobs during her life. She loved her garden, reading and animals. In later years she very much enjoyed daily coffee and visits with friends at a local gathering spot.
She is predeceased by her husband John Colgur in 1984 and sister (Margaret) Peggy Porteous in 1991. Betty is survived by daughter (Lee) Lurlene Dilling of Creston, son Darrol (Bertie) Colgur of Summerland, daughter Heather (Gary) Scott of Creston, 9 grandchildren,
10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Oliver Funeral Chapel on Friday July 16, 2010 at 11:00 am.
