Edna Mae Duvall (Bradley)

March 25, 1922 ~ April 02, 2016

Edna Duvall passed away peacefully on April 2, 2016 at the age of 94 years in Swan Valley Lodge, Creston, BC.

Born on the family homestead at Bluesky, AB to Robert and Bertha Bradley, being the sixth of their eight children.

She married Edwin Coyle Duvall on February 14, 1946 and they made their home on the farm southeast of Bluesky where Edna resided until January 2015. They had welcomed two sons and a daughter into their family who have blessed them with seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Her passion was the farm life on the prairie and her home was her castle. Her table was always set and her famous pies and coffee ready. Edna enjoyed her bingos and card games and skunking one at cribbage.

Edna was predeceased by son Melborne in 1969 and husband Coyle in 2008, besides her parents and six of her siblings throughout the years.

Edna will always be fondly remembered for her love of family, kindness and generosity. She will be dearly missed and forever loved by her son Gordon (Elsie) Duvall of Bluesky, AB; daughter Yvonne (David) Richardson of Creston, BC; brother Robert (Esther) Bradley of Oliver, BC; grandchildren: Mel, Kenny, Tracy, Kim, Dawn, Jody and Nicole; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Brittany, Tilar, Jordyn, Natasha, Jessie and Lillian; great-great granddaughter Emmalyn; and last but not least two other very special girls, whom she referred to as “those little ones”, Annabelle and Hailey.

She treasured memories of family, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many lifelong friendships throughout her many years.

We would like to thank her doctor, nurses, home care team and the Swan Valley Lodge staff for all the tender loving care given to Mom (Little Edna-as they had soon nicknamed her).

A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at the Waterhole Cemetery, Fairview AB.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Red Cross, 312-15th Ave N, Bag 3000, Creston, BC V0B 1G0 or charity of choice.
