Earl W. Turnquist

March 21, 1928 ~ November 17, 2013

Born on the family farm, Earl and his twin brother grew up with seven other siblings in Warman and Walwort, Saskatchewan.

Earl met Helena in 1949 at a dance in Villardville. They married in Tisdale on June 9, 1952, and settled in Saskatoon, where they were blessed with four children.

The family moved to Victoria in 1967 where Earl spent 21 years with the Victoria School Board. Earl and Helena retired in Creston in 1988 and have enjoyed many years of friendships, square dancing, and socializing. They travelled often between the Coast and Saskatchewan, with memorable trips to the southern U.S.

Earl had many hobbies including rock hounding, antique collecting, making windchimes, and was known for being lucky at cards.

His storytelling, smile, and gentle kindness will be remembered by his loving wife of 61 years, Helena; children Rodney (Helen), Jo-Ann (Richard), Woody (Catherine), Sonja (Mark); grandchildren Curtis, Andrew, Heather, Hannah (Emmett), Timothy, Katie, Patrick, Emma, William, and Alex, as well as extended family and many close friends.
